"Corporate Social Responsibility - fashion, manipulation or strategy?" Conference in Poland
Polish Humanitarian Organization (within Fashioning an ethical industry project) and Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun, informs about an interdisciplinary academic conference "Corporate Social Responsibility - fashion, manipulation or strategy?" which will be held on 10-12 December 2009 in Torun.
The conference aims to provide a platform for better understanding of the mutual views and opinions of both - practitioners and management theorists, sociologists, political scientists, ethicists and representatives of NGOs.
During the three-day conference organizers plan:
· working sessions,
· lectures presented by recognized theorists and practitioners of Corporate Social Responsibility,
· companies oxford debate,
· CSR workshop,
· Simulation game "Ethical business.
Presenting views on Corporate Social Responsibility from different perspectives is a good opportunity to stimulate a number of multi-dimensional, turbulent discussions leading to the development of constructive proposals. Custom conference format will help in better understanding the perception of Corporate Social
Responsibility issue by different stakeholders and shareholders involved in its development, but also create the opportunity to establish new and strengthen existing relationships.
On the first day of the conference (10th of December) will be the launch of two new organizations:
Clean Clothes Poland coalition - polish branch of an international forum aimed at promoting better working conditions in the garment industry. The coalition was initiated by Polish Humanitarian Organization, KARAT Coalition, Warsaw eFTe Group and the Polish Green Network.
Center for Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility established at NCU in Torun,the patron is Lech Walesa. The idea behind the Center is to create a platform of cooperation of representatives of various sectors and supporting the development of CSR through scientific activities, publications and research.
